This is one of my rare non-writing related posts. How can I not give a shout out to a woman who made a car. Out of yarn. http://www.bathspa.ac.uk/about/news/default.asp?article=426 (Pardon the punny headline. I couldn't resist.)
Harking back to prev posts, but leaving comment here, I just want to say good luck with your book about the woman who goes to France to make pastry. The co-incidence of the French pastry-making class being on offer seems to point to the novel being 'meant to be'.
Wow. Maybe you'd be interested in Barb Hunt's knitted land mines (it's an art exhibit): http://www.ago.net/info/ago_exhibition_archive/exhibition_specific.cfm?ID=662 It's pretty powerful. I've not seen it live, but I have been to a presentation about it.
