Not about me, unfortunately! But I do like to share good news even when it happens to strangers, in this case a Canadian writer who self-published his novel after not being able to land an agent or publisher. He recently won Canada's most prestigious award--and $10,000!

Not to take away from the achievement, but I need to make a small correction: that is Canada's most prestigious award for humour writing, but we have at least two more presitigious writing awards that receive substantially more press than the Leacock prize: The Giller Prize is worth $40000 and the Governor General's Awards (awarded in several genres) are worth $25000 each.
