I read this quote today, and wondered why I don't think like this instead of getting frustrated that my writing isn't perfect, whatever that means.

Well, it's the first thing that crossed my mind, so I must be more cynical than I first appear!
I love this. Carrie Jones, over on LJ (who's sold 5 books this year), says that she's able to do it because when writing her drafts she "gives herself permission to be mediocre."
Easing off ourselves can be just as valuable as pushing ourselves to do our best work constantly.
Great quote. We do put a lot of pressure on ourselves to produce.
It's hard sometimes to relax and enjoy the process but I think that's the key. That and being a millionaire. No, a multimillionaire!
